Having played to a fairly good standard for the best part of 40 years, the golf ball has never really been up for discussion. It was always Titleist, and I loved playing it. After a recent lesson at Banyan Golf Club, John Wither threw me 3 balls, and said give those a go. One Sunday afternoon I went to play 9 holes, and decided to play the Titleist VMX against the Bridgestone that John recommended and to my surprise, the new ball was consistently 10 / 15 yards in front of the Titleist even though it felt much softer.
When I got home I Googled it and watched Fred Couples talking about it and how it helped Senior golfers compress the ball. Most of us have swing speeds of under 105 mph and if it’s good enough for Freddy, it good enough for me.
