Kuala Lumpur, located in peninsular Malaysia, is a great spot to consider when heading to Asia for golf. Golf in Kuala Lumpur is very underrated, with a large choice of top-level courses to choose from. It is easy to spend a good amount of time in Kuala Lumpur enjoying courses that are used for professional events, and also spend some time exploring the city and its surroundings to take in the distinctly multicultural nature of Kuala Lumpur.

With its melting pot of cultures, Kuala Lumpur offers some excellent culinary experiences which allow golfers to experience various tastes of the region. All told, Kuala Lumpur is a very underrated golf destination and we highly recommend a Kuala Lumpur golf holiday.

TPC Kuala Lumpur West Course

Host to the US PGA Tour’s CIMB Classic, the course is a very good challenge and widely considered one of the best courses in the region. This course is set up for the lower handicappers. It is always in immaculate condition and the club house, locker rooms and facilities are first-class.

TPC Kuala Lumpur East Course

A fantastic course located at the excellent TPC Kuala Lumpur complex, this course plays host to the SIME Darby LPGA tournament. Not known to be as challenging as its sister West course. The course offers an excellent round on perfectly kept fairways and greens.

Kota Permai Golf & Country Club

Known as the course of the Malaysian Royals, this parkland style course is one of the most popular layouts in Kuala Lumpur. Having played host to the Asian Tour’s 2020 Malaysian Open, the elevation changes, well-guarded fairways and excellent greens ensure there is never a bad round out there

Saujana Golf & Country Club Palm Course

Known as one of the top golf courses in Kuala Lumpur, the Palm Course has hosted many top tournaments. This exclusive course is very close to the center of town, and with its tree-lined fairways and well-placed water hazards, it will put up a good test of golf for all who take the challenge.

Glenmarie Golf & Country Club

Home to two different courses – the Valley and the Garden – Glenmarie Golf & Country Club has two very unique layouts. There are excellent elevation changes which aren’t often seen at city courses and the greens are slick. Prior home to the EurAsia Cup.

Palm Garden Golf Club

Located south of downtown Kuala Lumpur on the way to Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Palm Garden is a fair and open course. Always kept in very good condition, the layout provides for many options off the tee, but requires precise planning on the approach shots to ensure a green in regulation.

Sungai Long Golf & Country Club

The only Jack Nicklaus-design in Kuala Lumpur, Sungai Long is a matured course which is good for all levels of golfers. For those looking for a stern test, play off the back tees. The fairways are forgiving and the greens are fair yet fast.

Templer Park Country Club

Set amongst ancient limestone cliffs and the jungle, Templer Park is a golfer’s paradise. A round here is always enjoyable due to the fantastic views, fresh air and the forgiving course conditions. Not an easy round by any stretch, but it is one of our golfers’ favourites.

The Mines Golf Resort & Club

Set on the outskirts of downtown Kuala Lumpur, The Mines is a prestigious course set around a large lake and some sloping hills which used to be a Tin mine, requiring smart placement off of the tees, and attention to approach shots. Wave to the ex-Malaysian Prime Minister who’s house is beside the 18th tee and who can often be seen on the balcony taking in the sites.
