Indonesia is Asia’s largest archipelago with over 13,000 islands sprawled across its vast area. The island of Java contains most of the major centers including the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta. In addition to Jakarta, other main spots include Surabaya, Bogor and Yogyakarta. Indonesia is an ex-Dutch colony, having been independent since 1945. Indonesia is also home to the popular island of Bali, which is well know for its culture, beaches and golf.

Jakarta being the capital city means many Indonesian golf holidays start there, though Denpasar airport in Bali does have some long-hail non-stops so it is possible to begin in Bali also. Indonesia may not yet be on everyone’s golf radars, which makes it the perfect place to visit before it gains popularity as the golf is excellent. There are excellent courses across the country, and the caddies are known to be particularly good.

Bogor and Surabaya do bring some more temperate climates when compared to Jakarta and Bali, so for those looking to get some less-humid golf those are cities to consider when thinking Indonesia golf.
