The Golf
The Jakarta Invitational Golf Week is comprised of 4 rounds of tournament golf. The first round, is a pairs event that doubles as a practice round. This is a fun day, letting golfers play with one of their friends and have a good day out on on the golf course, work out the kinks in the swing, get used to the conditions and get familiar with one of the three courses that will be used for the individual Stableford championship. The remaining three rounds, played at Royale Jakarta Golf Club (home to the Indonesian Masters), Sedayu Indo Golf – The Links (rare links/parkland style course) and Suvarna Jakarta Golf Club (one of Jakarta’s newest courses) are all individual Stableford rounds, with daily and weekly winners. The golf courses that will be played in the event are the best-of-the-best when it comes to golf in Jakarta. The courses are:
Royale Jakarta Golf Club
Royale Jakarta Golf Club, home to the Indonesian Masters, is widely considered to be Jakarta’s top golf course. Set amongst rolling vistas, this challenging layout tests everyone from the amateur golfer to the professionals. Always in great condition, Royale Jakarta Golf Club provides a fantastic golfing experience, and a chance for amateur golfers to get on one of the most exclusive and top courses in Asia.
Sedayu Indo Golf - The Links
Sedayu Indo Golf – The Links is a fantastic Nicklaus design set along the oceanfront on the northern tip of Jakarta. The course is a links/parkland mix, with the holes that play out along the ocean resembling a links course, with pot bunkers scattered across rolling fairways that are susceptible to the ocean winds, and the inland holes resembling a traditional parkland style course. The club house is one of the best in Indonesia. Being one of the best maintained, most visually spectacular and enjoyable courses to play, it is the perfect setting for the Jakarta Invitational Golf Week.
Suvarna Jakarta Golf Club
Suvarna Jakarta Golf Club is one of Jakarta’s newest golf courses, and sits just beside Royale Jakarta Golf Club. The rolling fairways with creeks running across the fairways make it a round that golfers have to think their way around, and plot not only their next shot, but their next 2-3 shots if they want to shoot a good score. With the Mount Salak volcano as the backdrop, the scenery around Suvarna Jakarta Golf Club is something to behold and ensures no matter the score, a good day will be had!
Golfers participating in the Jakarta Invitational Golf Week will have their own caddie at each round, and will share a golf cart with another golfer. This ensures golfers get the unique experience of having their own caddie, while getting the social experience that golf brings. For any golfer that hasn’t had a caddie, it’s a fantastic experience and definitely one of the highlights of golfing in Indonesia. They will help you read the greens, give you the lines for your shots, secret course tips, rake the bunkers and clean your clubs!
The Non-Golfers
The Jakarta Invitational Golf Week has some enriching activities for the non-golfers coming. Included is a Jakarta City Tour including stops at the famous Kota Tua Historical Site, The National Cathedral, The Grand Mosque and The National Monument. Each of these places are very important to the make up of Indonesia today, and the support each sector of society gives to the other. Enjoy a coffee and meal at the famous Cafe Batavia in the Kota Tua area. Another exciting day will see the non-golfing group attend a cooking class and learn how to make some of the famous Indonesian dishes such as Nasi Goreng (Indonesian Fried Rice), Mee Goreng (Indonesian Fried Noodles), Indonesian Satay, and more! The recipes will be given to the participants to take back home, so they can wow their friends and family with their new-found cooking skills!
Non-golfers also get access to the welcome and farewell dinners, as well as all 19th hole functions, so they can enjoy the event celebrations with the golfers.
The Jakarta Invitational Golf Week is a great week of golf and friendship-building, for golfers & non-golfers alike.
