Saigon, or Ho Chi Minh City, is Vietnam’s biggest city and is the economic capital of the country. Located in the south part of Vietnam, Saigon has a rich history from the Vietnam War that can be explored. The city is now very modern however, with lots of large skyscrapers and some fantastic rooftop bars scattered throughout the city, which provide excellent sunset and evening views, while offering super drinks. The Saigon golf scene is also very good, with top quality courses scattered throughout the area. The traffic can be a maze, so looking left and right for motorbikes and cars before walking is recommended. Be sure to try some of the excellent Vietnamese coffee while in town!

If looking for golf in Asia, Saigon golf is quite good. When planning a trip to golf in Saigon, you must be aware of the climate. The city has a tropical climate, with the year divided into two distinct seasons. The rainy season tends to begin in May and ends in October, whereas the dry season lasts from December to April. Although the transfers can be quite long due to the traffic, but a Saigon golf holiday is a great way to experience Vietnamese golf.

The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip

A Greg Norman classic and even though it’s a 2 hour drive from city, it’s a must play course. Regularly voted the best course in Vietnam, the elevation changes amongst the sand dunes, make it a tough test. Another option is to play it twice and stay overnight in Ho Tram.

Long Thanh Golf Club

Popular 36-hole layout about 30 kms north of Ho Chi Minh. The two courses are quite different and the Hill Course is more tree-lined and The Lakes Course, as its name suggests, has plenty of water hazards to negotiate. Both course is quite forgiving with wide fairways and close-cut rough which is pretty easy to escape from. Good elevation changes and generally in great condition.

West Lake Golf & Villas

West Lakes Golf & Villas is an exciting new addition to the golf industry in Vietnam. The 18 hole Championship Golf Course was completed in late 2018and it is the first golf course in the West Ho Chi Minh City region. Plans are to add 9 more holes to become a 27-hole golf course shortly. Good course, but a long drive.

Vietnam Golf & Country Club

Vietnam Golf & Country Club is the first 36-hole golf club in Vietnam and is widely regarded as Vietnam’s Premier Golf and Country Club. One of the Lee Trevino designs and a challenging layout

Twin Doves Golf Club

One of the best in Saigon, Twin Doves Golf Club is a 27-hole layout about one hour from downtown Saigon which has been designed to blend with the natural terrain. The course relies on the many water hazards and bunkers for protection.

Song Be Golf Resort

Interesting 27 holes with each of the three courses with quite different offering unique challenges with numerous water hazards, mature tropical trees, plants and large uneven greens.

Tan Son Nhat Golf Course

Located next to the International Aiprort, and the closest course to the city. This 36 holes complex is an American style course with plenty of water. All male caddies.
