Andaman Island Golf Holiday
12 Days/11 Nights
The combination of golf, beach, culture and entertainment, make Phuket a perfect golf holiday option. Often described as the “Jewel of the Andaman” , Phuket is only a 50 minute flight south of Bangkok and the recently expanded International Airport offers many direct options. The island is home to many high-end seaside resorts, spas and restaurants. Phuket City, the capital, has old shop houses and busy markets. Patong, the main resort town, has many nightclubs, bars and discos. Phuket is home to some world class golf courses, with the top of the crop being Red Mountain Golf Club and the courses at Blue Canyon Country Club.
Due to its proximity to the equator, the best time for golfers to visit is from October to March. Apart from the attraction of high quality golf, there are many options for excursions such as speed boat visits to the tropical islands, Karon View point, the Phuket Big Buddha and the most popular show around, Phuket Fantasea. With
Red Mountain Golf Club
Arguably the best on the island, with the most amazing views and elevation changes. Straight hitting is a must here, or be prepared to lose many golf balls. The course winds through an old tin mine which used to be the major economic driver, and now provides for some great views. Generally the best conditioned course on the island.
Loch Palm Golf Club
This is a popular choice with both residents and visitors due to its charming course and central location, located a short drive from Phuket Town and Patong Beach. This 18 hole, par 72 course offers a relaxing 6,555 yard round, not as demanding as most on the island so popular for beginners, intermediates and professionals alike.
Blue Canyon, Canyon Course
Once the pride of Thai Championship Courses, the Canyon course has recently received some new investment and completed much needed renovations in April 2021. With these renovations, the course is back in its rightful spot of being one of the best courses in the Kingdom, and one of the most challenging.
Blue Canyon Lakes Course
By no means the poor relation of its well known sister course, this course is tough challenge on its own, with water in play on 17 of the 18 holes. The par four 18th is one of the best finishing holes in Thailand, and the first 4 holes will really test your game.
Aquella Golf & Country Club
New course, with a majestic panorama view of the Andaman Sea, Aquella’s 7,000-yard, par-72, 18-hole course is surrounded by lush pine forests and a profusion of exotic, tropical plants. The course is actually in the province of Phang Nga, just off the island and has been designed to challenge every player at all levels of abilities.
Laguna Golf Phuket
Laguna Golf Phuket is an 18-hole, par-71 golf course, set within the expansive Laguna Phuket Resort complex. Revamped and revitalized by architect Paul Jansen in 2014, and has hosted the Thailand Open on numerous occasions.
Mission Hills Golf Resort
Jack Nicklaus design and one of the few courses in Thailand with sea views. Doesn’t drain well in the low season (May to October) and gives the impression of being a little run down. In much better condition in the high season, and worth including on a high season itinerary if looking for some picturesque golf.
Phuket Country Club
Old 27 hole favourite, though not is as good condition as in previous years. One to include if on a longer holiday, and looking for some variation.
Kathatong Golf Resort
Katathong Golf Course is an 18-hole championship course nestled between three stunning misty mountains in Phang Nga, Southern Thailand, Despite being a newly opened course, Katathong is in great condition and has some spectacular golf holes. Best avoided between May & October due the heavy rainfall in these area.
