Weekend Golf in Bogor Tour
3 Days/2 Nights
Bogor is located about a 75 minute drive south of the Indonesian capital of Jakarta. It is set up in the mountains, surrounded by beautiful mountain peaks and lots of forest, making it one of the more cool and temperate golf destinations in South East Asia. With seven excellent golf courses in the area, golfers can spend plenty of time enjoying great golf, and some relaxing time in the area which is sparsely populated and full of nature.
The city is at the foot of the Mount Salak volcano and offers memorable views throughout your stay. With seven courses, it is possible to spend a full trip in Bogor, however it is also very common to combine some time in Bogor with a few nights and rounds of golf in Jakarta at the start or end of the trip.
Rancamaya Golf & Country Club
Rancamaya Golf & Country Club is a classic parkland design laying in the shadow of Mount Salak. Located just 30 minutes south of Bogor, this is an excellent choice for those looking to play a mature golf course with excellent scenery. The complex of lakes and small rivers ensure there is some water out there, so make sure the ball is on the fairway!
Rainbow Hills Golf Club
Rainbow Hills Golf Club in Bogor is a nice course with great views, designed with all golfers in mind. The course sets up as a fair challenge for the lower handicappers from the back tees, while still being an enjoyable round for the higher handicappers from tees further forward. With natural hazards and local jungle lining the fairways, accuracy is more important than length here.
Gunung Geulis Country Club
This 36 hole complex provides some great variety in golf, and will not leave golfers disappointed after their round. The Peter Thompson design is located up in the hills around Bogor, with sprawling views over the valley providing great memories. Being 450 meters above sea level ensures some of the cooler golf temperatures there are to be had in South East Asia. The West and East courses are very unique from one another, so this is a great option for 2 rounds. And if you want to stay on-site, the excellent Royal Tulip Hotel is the perfect choice.
Riverside Golf Club
Riverside Golf Club is the first Greg Norman design in Indonesia and what a job he has done here. The course is carved out of the ancient hardwood rain forest leading to tight fairways and an emphasis on shot placement. Original streams and ravines are found throughout the round, leading to fantastic scenery and a very enjoyable day on this Bogor golf course.
Emeralda Golf Club
Emerelda Golf Club is a 27 hole complex, with one 18 designed by Arnold Palmer and the other 9 by Jack Nicklaus, making it truly a course of legends. The courses provide excellent greens keeping, with water hazards strategically placed to provide a good challenge. Various professional events including the Volvo Masters Asia have been held here.
Klub Golf Bogor Raya
This is mountain golf in its truest form. Located 1,000 meters above sea level, Klub Golf Bogor Raya is a very enjoyable layout set on the outskirts of Bogor and only 80 minutes from Jakarta. The fairways meander through the lush jungle vegetation so being straight is important. The layout and views offer a unique golf experience that can’t be found in other South East Asian golf destinations.
Sentul Highlands Golf Club
Sentul Highlands Golf Club, located in the Sentul City residential area, is one of the shorter courses in the area. This Gary Player design takes advantage of the natural topography provided by being in the foothills, placement off the tee box is the key to a great score here. With views of the nearby Gunung Salak providing for an excellent backdrop, be sure to bring both your accuracy and camera for a great day of golf.
